Hello. I have a story for the K/S Advent that I need a beta to look
over. I'm really just looking for someone to go over it and make sure I
haven't missed any words or spelled something wrong. I'm not sure how
long it is (will be), because I'm typing in WordPad, which doesn't have
pages or word counts. But it shouldn't be too long. If anyone has like
ten minutes to spend looking it over for me, I would really appreciate
it. I'm not quite done with the story yet, but I will be soon, probably
in another hour or so.

The story is basically fluff with Jim and Spock spending Christmas at home with their son and their other partner.

I had like very bad luck with betas, because until now, a friend here and a friend there help me out in the past, i loved my friends, they love me, but they have a lot to do writing and living so i have a lot of things who need check and the most terrible thing is in the now
I had like less than 10 days for posting my K/S advent calendar is almost finished and is like 9600 words now, and will end up like 11k giving or take. it is a cross over with Dune of Frank Herbert, but you don't need to read the book only with wiki about the bene gesserit is enough.

and hopefully a more permanent beta for my work in my computer and in my head.

Firstly, I would like to request a beta reader (or two) for an XI Kirk/McCoy slash fic I am in the process of writing. The fic is a fairly standard, Kirk's-injured-and-McCoy's-bitching-and-taking-care-of-him, more than a tiny bit angsty thing, but I'm experimenting with having each chapter come from the POV of a different character as they visit Kirk in sickbay. As such, the fic is almost entirely made up of speech, and one of the main things I'm going to need help with is making sure I'm keeping everyone in character and their dialogue sounding 'correct'. The fic will hopefully turn out at around 20,000 words (in case length is an issue).

Secondly, I'm just starting in on a fic that, in my head at least, is growing to fairly epic proportions. o.O What I'm looking for here, for now, is someone who can help me out with some questions about canon (for now I'm just looking for help with one or two XI questions; if anything else comes up I'll post again). I'm usually very confident with canon, but I want to make sure I'm definitely getting it right with a few things. :-)

Hey guys!

I need some help/advice.

When I was in grade eight, I read the Outsiders for school, and became immediately hooked. Some years later, I saw ST:XI for the first time, and became immediately hooked. About a week ago, I saw both movies in the same day. My world will never be the same.

Consequently, I would like to insert my favourite Star Trek characters into an au version of the Outsiders. I have a general plot idea, and some specific scenes in mind. I'm just a little torn on how best to do this, in regards to time, POV, character changes, etc...

So anyone who would be willing to help and has read/loved the Outsiders would be sooo appreciated!

I've written a few K/S fics and some House fics before, but I need help pretending to make Spock speak Vulcan. Part of me doesn't care that much about grammar and sentence structure with Vulcan, but part of me is really anal about accuracy. I have most of the words I want to use, but I don't know about verb tenses and how to use reflexive pronouns and whatnot.

I won't need much (if any) help with English grammar, as I'm a proud grammar-nazi. My only issues in fics have been missing a small word like "he" or "a" in the middle of sentences.

Anyway, this part of the story is porny, so I need you to be old enough to read that. Let me know if you are interested or can help.

So, I am like the worst person in the world and have only now finished my fic for

help_haiti. The bidder requested a Kirk/Chekov fic and since that's not really my ship I would love someone to look it over and make sure everyone is in character. I've already sent it to my normal beta, but she's not into the Star Trek fandom and I would feel more comfortable about it if someone who was could look it over quick-like.

I used a nickname (Pasha) for Chekov that I had seen used in a fair amount of fics but since I only know the 2009 movie I don't know if that's even a canon nickname. Does anyone know?

The fic is about 4 pages long in Word (or else I would just post it here) and I would only rate it PG-13 because there are (vague) allusions to sexual situations and I think I'm a little old-fashioned as to what kids know these days.
